Donna Karan on Her See Now, Buy Now Line for Urban Zen | Allure

It’s how to find the calm in the chaos of fashion.” In 2015, Karan announced she’d be stepping down as chief designer of Donna Karan International, a company she founded in 1984, remaining only as an adviser. At Karan’s Urban Zen presentation, which was held at the brand’s West Village boutique, models wore tufted silk coats, long shearling vests, heavy leggings, moto jackets, reversible kimonos, and artisanal knits—all perfectly fit for a cozy fall wardrobe. “Now Ralph [Lauren] is only showing in season,” Karan said of the American designer’s recent decision to show a direct-to-consumer collection this week.

The spring 2017 shows have offered up some serious makeup inspiration—loads of mascara, smatterings of glitter, shocks of rainbow-bright colors on the eyes, lips, and even cheeks in some cases. Marni, which is known for its bold prints and mingling of textures, took a purer, simpler tone for spring. The makeup was equally as fresh, and as I said before, combined two of the most prevalent makeup themes we’ve been seeing since New York—high-shine lids and cheekbones, and shimmery, silver eye makeup.Read more at

How Tinashe Is Shattering Gender Stereotypes

It’s no secret that there’s a severe gender imbalance within all levels of the music industry.
